Since its foundation in 1953, 3 generations of the family have built Thebault Group, from a small provincial timber business, into the leading French plywood manufacturer, with a strong international reputation.

The company establishes a base in Gabon, founding a new industrial unit with a floor space of 9500m² dedicated to peeling of Okoume so as to provide veneers to the French plant at Magné: THEBAULT TRANSBOIS SA – Owendo, Gabon.

1985 >

Converting the Sauzé-Vaussais site to specialise in the production of Maritime Pine plywood. The Magné site, with its 13000m² of floor space, remains dedicated to the manufacture of Okoume plywood.

Creation of a new 13000 m² plywood production plant at Sauzé–Vaussais (79)

First peeling line at Magné for the production of veneers and later on plywood

Foundation of JEAN THEBAULT in Magné (79). Named after its founder, the company specialises in the further processing of poplar logs which are abundant in the region, and sold as sawn timber.
