style=\"color: #74a68e;\">EUDR:<\/span><\/strong> The European Regulation against Deforestation and Forest Degradation aims to forbid the placing on the market or export from the European market of products that have contributed to deforestation or forest degradation.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #74a68e;\"><strong>Deforestation:<\/strong><\/span> designates the conversion of forests to agricultural use, whereas forest degradation is measured on the basis of various criteria relating to structural changes in forest cover.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #74a68e;\"><strong>Products concerned and mentioned in annex 1 of EUDR:<\/strong><\/span> cattle, wood, cocoa, soya, palm oil, coffee, rubber and certain of their derivative products such as leather, chocolate, tyres or furniture.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #74a68e;\"><strong>Due diligence:<\/strong> <\/span>\u00a0this includes three main stages: collecting information, assessing the risk of illegal harvesting, and implementing risk mitigation measures.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #74a68e;\"><strong>Due Diligence Statement:<\/strong><\/span> Before any product is placed on the market, operators and distributors will have to fill in a statement in the TRACES information system, which in turn will centralize all these declarations. Operators will have to review their due diligence system at least on an annual basis.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #74a68e;\"><strong>TRACES:<\/strong><\/span> The European Commission\u2019s online platform for the sanitary &amp; phytosanitary certification of animal and plant imports.
