Het Narchios Cultureel Centrum ontving de prijs voor het beste project ter wereld in de categorie “Cultural Projects and Religious Places” van het prestigieuze tijdschrift ENR (Engineering News Record), de Amerikaanse pers die zich bezighoudt met civiele techniek en bouw.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gegroepeerd binnen het Cultureel Centrum van de Stichting Stavros Niarchos, zijn de nieuwe Nationale Opera en de Nationale Bibliotheek gevestigd op het terrein van Kallithea, de voormalige parkeergarage van de Olympische Spelen van 2004, 4 km ten zuiden van Athene, in een park van 17 hectaren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het bureau van de architect Renzo Piano, gevestigd in Gen\u00e8ve en Parijs, heeft zich een dubbele ruimte in een uniek gebouw voorgesteld.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De operavleugel<\/strong> bestaat uit twee zalen, \u00e9\u00e9n met 450 zitplaatsen voor traditionele opera en ballet en de andere met 1400 zitplaatsen voor meer experimentele voorstellingen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De bibliotheek<\/strong> is bedoeld als een plaats van leren en cultuurbehoud, maar ook als een openbare hulpbron, een ruimte waar cultuur voor iedereen toegankelijk is, klaar om te worden gedeeld en gewaardeerd.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

De leeszaal van de bibliotheek, met zijn volledig glazen wanden, bevindt zich bovenin het gebouw, net boven het bladerdak. Het is een enorme transparante doos, die een 360\u00b0 uitzicht op Athene en de zee zal hebben.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

De zonwering biedt schaduw, die nodig is voor de koeling van het gebouw, en wordt aangevuld met 10.000 m\u00b2 fotovolta\u00efsche cellen. Dit cellenveld, dat 1,5 megawatt elektriciteit opwekt, moet de energieautonomie van het complex garanderen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We hebben het gebouw onder het park gebouwd. We kunnen naar boven gaan om van het uitzicht op zee te genieten en het gebouw blijft goed beschermd tegen zonnestraling, wat energie bespaart. Meer dan 10.000 m\u00b2 van diverse technische vloeren zijn gemaakt van TeboPin en TeboFloor multiplex. Alle gecertificeerde PEFC\u2122 , het op dennenbomen gebaseerde hout van de THEBAULT Groep is afkomstig van duurzaam bosbeheer, een sinequanone voorwaarde voor de oplevering van dit uitzonderlijke project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
